Why Not?...President Rule In Manipur  MANIPUR VIOLENCE It has been a long time of three and half months but the fire of the Manipur riots is still burning the hearts of the nation. Numerous lives have gone in this internal clash between the Meitei and Kuki tribes of Manipur. More than 180 people have been killed, numerous houses have been set on fire, unknown number of rape cases and sexual offences are shading the newspapers daily. But not a single strict action has been taken to cope up with the situation. it seems that the screaming of rape survivors have lost in the sound of firing and bombartment, the emotions of the state and central government have also got burnt in the fire set on there.                   "Losing The Voice of  Democracy"                            Reporters Without Borders, or Reporte rs Sans Frontiers (RSF) , released its report on " The World Press Freedom Index 2023 " on May 2nd. India was ranked 161 out of 180 countries. If you observe the progress of the Indian press, it has consistently deteriorated since 2016 when it was ranked 131. It was positioned at 150 last year just for stating that India is one of the largest democratic countries in the world, but the number of Indian press in the World Press Freedom Index is quite shameful.
